At the 2018 high performance development camp for USA hockey, Dr. Jamie Sawchuk introduced the select group of 14-year-olds to sport psychology.  Not only were the athletes developed in their hockey techniques, but they were also developed in their mental approach.  While the idea of working with mental coaching is often foreign at that age, it’s the ideal time to begin building a strong mental skills foundation.  Rather than waiting until later in their careers, starting early gives them techniques to use and build from as they continue into their life and sport.
